Join us on Wednesday, November 19^th from 4:30 to 6:00 at CREC Central for Reading the Word and the World. 

What happens if we move beyond answering questions and instead work with students to think critically about every subject? This workshop explores critical literacy–an instructional approach that encourages students to question whose voices are heard, whose are missing, and how knowledge is constructed–and reveals how these strategies can be applied beyond the reading classroom. Participants will walk away with practical ideas to spark meaningful discussions and critical thinking in social studies, science, and math.

Also, join us on Wednesday, February 24, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:00 at CREC Central for Difficult Conversations Made Easy.

Participants will learn to recognize when it is time to have a difficult conversation and will learn simple strategies to take the fear out of initiating one. The workshop will cover how to manage strong feelings that arise during difficult conversations, as well as how and when to follow up afterward. Snow Date: March 4. 2026
